Precious, precious cargo

Precious, precious child.

Even before you are born, we know you and love you; and your Father God is knitting you together inside me, in that secret place.

Precious child, loved one.

Your Father God has all your days prepared for you, prepared in love: He has plans to prosper you and not to harm you. You are loved!

Precious little one.

Growing all the time, as our love for you keeps on growing too.

Grow safely little one.

Love you, baby.

Hey baby.... I see you.....

Hey baby.... we got to see you again today, and whaddya know you are as unpredictable as ever. This time you were all curled up breach right at the bottom, fast asleep. Meant the sonographer had to poke you a couple of times to get you to stretch your legs out a bit (was worried about this as your feet have a habit of sticking your feet into places you really oughtn't to, and it don't half hurt...) but you obliged and woke up a bit, nearly started sucking your thumb but decided not to at the last moment.

So you are all perfect, a perfect little baby growing inside. We even found out what flavour you are but we're not telling :)

Your heavenly Dad is amazing, creating you and choosing me to be your home for these 9 months.

Love you baby :)

Wishlist

I suppose I'd better start listing things that we want or might need for this forthcoming addition, the list could be endless but I shall start at the beginning and update it as necessary...

Cot - seen one in Ikea we want, although I think a moses basket will probably do for a few months.
Dresser / changing area - again seen one in Ikea that we want, lots of storage and space for changing mat although my brother Chris says that as long as you have a mat, the bed will do fine for a changing table!
A billion babygros - we will get these ourselves, as least for the first 3 months
Nappies! - what nappies to get? Thinking washable ones, we'll see anyway.
Bibs...
Mobile. Steve had the genius idea of putting me under a musical mobile every night to play the tunes to baby... the theory being that when baby is born it will chill out to the mobile music...
Playmat
Buggy - I suppose we will need one, but am putting off thinking about this for the time being!
Sling - what's the one that Therese has got? That's what I want.

What else? I don't know. Do newborns need toys? I don't reckon so. Maybe once it's a few months old it might appreciate something other than a tableleg or an arm to suck on.

What else do babies need...? Honestly??

Heeeyyyy baby baby....

A little note to the baby....

Well baby, we went off to the Evalina Children's Hospital in the Big Smoke last Thursday to get your heart checked out, make sure it was growing properly and all. What a day. So you decided that Thursday would be a good day to do somersaults, kick and punch and poke, go diving deep deep down and generally wriggle and jiggle so much that the consultant had to ask us to come back in a couple of months when there's no chance of you hiding!!

He was pleased generally though with what he could see, when you stayed still long enough that is. Just one little area that he couldn't get a good image of - nothing serious, he just wants to make sure everything's fine and as it should be.

And then you evidently had worn yourself out with all that excitement, and didn't make a peep all the rest of the day when we saw your auntie and uncle. Typical - I get the impression you're going to be a right little handful!!

You have had me and daddy in stitches though recently, what with your diving skills - it's been like something out of alien, a huge great lump protruding from my pelvis... nice!! And then you poked daddy back, that was funny.

Last night was very silly. Daddy came to say goodnight and put his head really close to my belly and started singing "Heeeyyyy baby baby" and didn't get any further than that because it obviously woke you up and you gave a massive kick!! So he did it again and you nearly got his mouth ;) He was well pleased that he got a chance to feel you wriggling about and poking all over the place again, but I did have to remind him that maybe last thing at night is not the best time to go waking you up like that....

We get to see you again on Friday! I'm really hoping that along with all the dancing and diving you seem to enjoy at the moment that you show enough of yourself so that we can see whether you're a little boy-baby or a girl-baby, although some of my friends have been joking that what with all the weetos I've been eating you're more likely to be round and chocolately with a hole in the middle ;)

It's nice being able to look down and see where you are, it's incredible to think how big you must be and how on earth you manage to fit in there. Can hardly believe we're halfway through this pregnancy - you and me babe, we're doing well!

Love you baby :)
